Miur and Telecom Italia launch “Italian Rainforest”, a new model for innovation from Silicon Valley

On 15th June in Rome, Greg Horowitt will illustrate his “Rainforest” theory and a model to develop an ecosystem for innovation in Italy.

On 15th June in Rome, Telecom Italia and the Ministry for Education, Research and University are organizing “Italian Rainforest - Learning to Grow”, an appointment to define new steps towards innovation in Italy and to look towards the future aided by experience gathered at Silicon Valley.

The objective of the initiative is to define a new model for an ecosystem for innovation in Italy by hosting a debate among the most qualified players within the sectors involved: research, university, finance, politics and digital entrepreneurship.

Greg Horowitt is the event’s star guest, he is a Fellow of the Kauffman Society and the co-author of “Rainforest: the secret to building the next Silicon Valley” - a best seller dealing with the implementation and development of new projects for innovation that will be the focus of the next Global Innovation Summit in California and that has already stirred up an international debate.

The following people will take part in the “Italian Rainforest - Learning to Grow” event that will take place at Telecom Italia’s industrial establishment - (located in via dei Magazzini Generali, 20/A): Greg Horowitt, Mario Calderini (senior advisor for research and innovation policies at MIUR), Marco Patuano (Telecom Italia’s CEO), Annibale D’Elia Puglia region, Francesco Sacco, (Professor at the Bocconi University in Milan of the Management and Technology Department) and many more people from the world of startups. The public watching the event will have the opportunity to ask questions on the topics that emerge during the event.

 “Italian Rainforest - Learning to Grow” can be followed on 15th June from 10:30am as it will be streamed live on the Working Capital website (www.workingcapital.telecomitalia.it) Working Capital is Telecom Italia’s business accelerator that invests in the best Italian startups for the digital sector to assist their entry on the market.
