This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of TIM Brasil, an industrial project that has brought important financial results and enriched our Group with identities, cultures and professionalism of great value.
With over 9,000 employees, more than 50% of whom are women, 62.5 million mobile lines managed, and growing revenue and margins that contribute 25% to the results of the entire Group, TIM Brasil is playing a decisive role in Brazil's digital growth. In fact, it is the only operator present in all Brazilian municipalities, and its 5G is already in 27 capitals. It was recognised again this year as the leading company in Latin America and 7th worldwide in the Bloomberg 2023 Gender Equality Index (GEI).
The excellent results achieved are also the result of a strategy that was already launching one of the first consolidation operations two years ago, with the operator Oi, highlighting early a now inevitable trend and necessity for the telecommunications sector.
In these 25 years, we have written many pages of a success story together, thanks to the extraordinary contribution of all the people working in Brazil and to the strong and deep partnership that has bound us to each other professionally and personally. The most recent recognition is the one awarded by the Order of Rio Branco of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Pietro Labriola, the CEO of TIM, who received the medal in the rank of Commander, and to Mario Girasole, Director of Institutional Regulatory Affairs and Communication of TIM Brasil, who received the rank of Officer. During the ceremony, at the Brazilian Embassy in Rome, Ambassador Helio Vitor Ramos Filho spoke of the importance of TIM in strengthening ties between the two nations and the role of our colleagues: “This ceremony is an important moment in the ongoing development of economic relations and the friendship between Brazil and Italy. TIM has a historical presence in Brazil, collaborates in the spread of digital technology throughout the country, and is the only operator present in all 5,570 municipalities”.
This story of affinity, collaboration, and success is also one of the aspects of the strength of TIM's connections that makes us proud.
