Making mobility and the management of tourist flows simpler and more efficient, accelerating the environmental transition, and guaranteeing the safety and health of citizens: these are the goals for which we have been using our skills and technologies to help the city of Venice for some time now, transforming it into Italy's first smart city thanks to the Smart Control Room project. Because with 5G, IoT, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Cybersecurity and High Performance Computing we can help to improve the management of the city, the sustainable use of the urban fabric and, above all, the lives of the citizens of such a complex and wonderful city.
In order to continue and to strengthen this collaboration, TIM recently became one of the co-founding members of the Venice Sustainability Foundation, which was established in March 2022 and works towards achieving a new model of sustainability for Venice and the surrounding areas.
A number of regional and local authorities, leading Venetian cultural and academic institutions and a group of large companies interested in the sustainable development of the Venetian area participate in the Foundation's activities.
One of the main areas of activity of our collaboration with the Foundation will be sustainable tourism, which lets the city make the most of its artistic heritage, taking into consideration the social and environmental impact of the many visitors who flock to the area on a daily basis, and we will focus on the development of synergies between Venetian cultural institutions and ICT to develop new forms of content use.
The focus on the environment will also be a very important factor, achieved through our expertise in environmental monitoring and control of the waste cycle.
We will also work to expand training available in the area of digital technologies and to develop digital services for education, and on the social inclusion front, in particular to improve the safety and health of people, through social and health monitoring activities and remote monitoring of frail patients.
Finally, a plan will be implemented to combat illegal activities, using physical and IT security solutions and artificial intelligence technologies.
