On 27 November, at Borgo Panigale, together with Ducati Corse and Qualcomm Technologies, we inaugurated 'The Speed of Innovation’, a special immersive experience that, through our cutting-edge technological solutions, offers new tools to visitors to the historic Ducati Museum, to make their visit more interactive and exciting.
The first new attraction is the Wonder Room VR Experience: wearing a visor, visitors will enter a virtual exhibition space, with many documents, unpublished photographic material, drawings and sketches, all dedicated to the history, evolution and fun facts of one of Ducati’s most iconic models: the 916.
Second in line is the Box MotoGP 360° experience: here, visitors will also wear a visor to get behind the scenes of the MotoGP World Championship, in the official team box, where only insiders have access. An unprecedented adventure for fans, who will have the chance to virtually meet Mauro Grassilli, Ducati Corse's Sports, Marketing & Communication Director, and his team, and find out new information about the motorbikes and racing world.
In addition to the launch of the two virtual experiences - available at the Ducati Museum for the next six months - the opening day was also an opportunity to present the potential of the 5G-connected ‘quadruped robot’ - which tracks the motorbikes moved within Ducati's new logistics hub in Valsamoggia - to the public in attendance. A practical demonstration of the great potential of collaborative robotics for the future of the industrial and logistics sectors.
The digital solutions exhibited at the Ducati Museum have been achieved thanks to two leading technological components: the millimetre-wave 5G network, enabled by Qualcomm Technologies, and the Extended Reality platform by TIM Enterprise, which manages and optimises extended in-cloud reality solutions, for a complete and interactive engaging experience.
These technologies, combined with TIM Enterprise’s skills and infrastructure, enable any kind of immersive experience. For instance, in Taormina, we created a virtual tour of famous works and artistic marvels during Taobuk, the International Festival celebrating the encounter between literature, art, science and technology. While in Florence, in the Monumental Complex of Santa Croce, we have set comprehensive thematic paths in augmented reality in place, to visit the Cappella de' Pazzi, the ancient refectory, the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Rossini, and Dante's Cenotaph.
