The CEO of Telecom Italia, Enrico Bondi, met today with representatives of the trade unions CGIL-CISL-UIL, to whom he illustrated Telecom Italia Group’s industrial plan.
The plan highlights the importance of a rigorous industrial management of the Group’s business with a strong emphasis on all clients: residential, business and public administration, that will characterise the company’s activities over the next few years. Telecom Italia intends to improve its position in the value chain relying on the infrastructures, by developing amongst others things, services with a higher technological content, and by increasing the value of the skills of the resources used and the synergies among the various Telecom Italia and Pirelli research centres.
Mr Bondi confirmed that even in a context of substantial change in the growth prospects of the telecommunications sector and of strong competition in the European market, the Group wishes to strengthen its leadership in the domestic fixed telephony market as well as in mobile telephony in Italy and abroad, with a balanced and consistent development of industrial investments, amounting to about 16 billion euros over the next three years. Technologies, skills and investments will represent a great opportunity for Italian industry and the modernisation of the country
A more in depth examination of each Business Unit will take place in subsequent meetings with the trade unions.
