Beginning January in Jakarta, Telecom Italia Sparkle and Telkom Indonesia managers will together plan and build the new generation network
Telecom Italia Sparkle (TI Sparkle), the Telecom Italia Group international services company, has won the competition, held by local operator Telekom Indonesia, for a wide-ranging consultancy project for the new generation telecommunications network (NGN). The 6-month contract includes the technical, commercial and organizational aspects of the project, in view of the imminent introduction of NGN to Indonesia.
The quality and competitiveness of the Italian proposal, together with Telecom Italia’s specific experience as one of the world’s first companies to introduce an NGN network at the national level, allowed TI Sparkle to win this prestigious contract.
Beginning in January 2006, a group of experts and managers from both Telecom Italia and TI Sparkle will relocate to Jakarta to accompany and support the technicians of Telkom Indonesia through the project and the construction of the NGN.
“This is a victory of particular importance for us,” said Stefano Mazzitelli, the Chief Executive of TI Sparkle “because it coincides with our goal of integrating the supply of international telecommunications services with structured offers including consultancy, training and technological support to operators in strategic markets. TI Sparkle has already developed consultancy projects in Europe, North Africa and Latin America, and the Telekom Indonesia contract is our first engagement in the Far East, of which we are obviously very pleased.”
