Regarding press rumours surrounding an interest by Mr. Naguib Sawiris to invest in Telecom Italia, upon request by Consob Telecom Italia clarifies the following:
In the past days the Company has received communication from Mr. Naguib Sawiris about an interest in investing in Telecom Italia SpA’s sharecapital through underwriting of new stock issuing. The initiative is described as being aimed at bringing new resources to the Company to be dedicated to growth projects.
The document was read during the Board meeting on 8 November; the Board of Directors solely took note of it, retaining any appropriate evaluation after necessary verification to be carried out by the Company’s management.
