Telecom Italia hereby announces it received the resignation letters of Mr. Cesar Alierta and Mr. Julio Linares as Board Members of the company, effective immediately. They did not further motivate their decision; late this afternoon Telefonica S.A. (on which Board Mr. Alierta and Mr. Linares serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively) issued a press release putting the initiative in context (http://www.telefonica.com/en/shareholders_investors/html/comunicaciones/index.shtml).
Mr. Alierta and Mr. Linares were appointed by cooptation on 8 November 2007 and successively appointed by the Shareholders meetings on 14 April 2008 and 12 April 2011, following nomination in the slates presented by Telco S.p.A.
Julio Linares was member of the Executive Committee and is nominated in the slate presented by Telco S.p.A. for the Shareholders meeting called on 20 December 2013. The resignation letter as Board member includes his renounce of such nomination.
