TIM acknowledges the provision communicated today by the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) concerning the start-up of an investigation relating to the joint investment agreement stipulated by TIM and Fastweb concerning the company Flash Fiber.
Flash Fiber is a joint venture established in 2016 by TIM and Fastweb with the aim of accelerating the development of the optic fibre infrastructure in FTTH (fibre to the home) mode, in the main 29 Italian cities already covered with FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) by 2020.
Flash Fiber expects to invest over 1 billion euros by 2020.
TIM confirms that it has behaved correctly and the industrial project is valid, which enables the acceleration of the dissemination of FTTH services, in line with the objectives of the National Ultrabroadband Strategy, increasing competition and bringing about benefits for consumers.
The company will assure the Authority maximum collaboration and transparency during the proceedings.
