Ensuring maximum security for the country's critical and strategic data and services through an efficient and reliable cloud infrastructure, which promotes the digital transformation process of the Public Administration by offering higher quality public services. This is the mission of the Polo Strategico Nazionale (National Strategic Hub - PSN) , the project company owned by TIM, Leonardo, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP, through its subsidiary CDP Equity) and Sogei, which intends to accompany public administrations in the adoption of cloud solutions that develop the digitalization of the P.A. and enable greater efficiency in offering innovative services to citizens and businesses, rationalizing public spending and reducing energy impact.
"The National Strategic Hub, by pooling the expertise of its members and the most advanced technologies available, is ready to provide cutting-edge solutions to the Public Administration, which is going through a process of digital transformation, and which must be a development engine in this direction for the whole country. The P.A. must guarantee citizens and businesses new development opportunities and new services, and PSN will accompany it in migrating towards an infrastructure that will offer a high guarantee of security and data protection, but also greater technical and environmental efficiency, thanks to the green data centers at our disposal. We are ready to lead this process, always keeping three key concepts in mind: security, efficiency and independence. It is a challenge that has already begun: our team is made up of a team of experts selected among the best professionals on the market, we are on schedule and the infrastructure will be delivered by the end of the year, as envisaged in the Agreement signed with the Department for Digital Transformation (DTD) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers,” says Emanuele Iannetti, the company's CEO and General Manager.
The National Security Hub, promoted by the Department in the context of the NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan), will host the critical and strategic data and services of Central Public Administrations, Local Health Authorities (ASLs), and other local public administrations, while also allowing administrations to choose the PSN for ordinary data.
The creation of the PSN is among the main initiatives of the Italian Cloud Strategy and will be crucial to reach the goal of getting 75 per cent of Italian administrations to use cloud services by 2026.
In addition, the project promotes the redevelopment of public spending with a reduction in the costs currently incurred by public administrations for investment and infrastructure management, helping to increase energy efficiency by reducing consumption, also with a view to environmental sustainability.
The initiative envisages the implementation of a dual-region architecture distributed over 4 Data Centers, interconnected with ultra-broad fiber optic connectivity to ensure business continuity in real time, in spaces certified to the highest standards available.

Polo Strategico Nazionale (www.polostrategiconazionale.it) is the company owned by TIM (45%), Leonardo (25%), CDP (20%) and Sogei (10%) whose mission is to build and manage a technologically innovative and independent cloud infrastructure to guarantee security as well as economic and environmental sustainability in the management of data and applications of the Italian Public Administration. Following the awarding of the tender, the company signed an agreement with the Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to carry out the concession for a total duration of 13 years, undertaking to provide each participating administration with services for a period of 10 years, starting from the date of completion of the data migration.
