TIM Group and Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 working together for the next Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026: TIM will be the Official Telecommunications Partner and will provide ultra-fast fibre and 5G connections as well as a range of state-of-the-art digital collaboration services.
The partnership was signed by Andrea Varnier, CEO of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, and Pietro Labriola, CEO of TIM, in the presence of the President of the Organising Committee, Giovanni Malagò. For the occasion, TIM will upgrade the mobile network in the locations involved in the event, in areas of particular relevance such as airports and stations and will provide mobile connectivity through more than 10,000 sim cards and 5G and 4G routers.
Furthermore, TIM will carry out the cabling of all the Olympic and Paralympic venues to provide Fondazione with advanced voice and digital solutions, and two telecommunications and data transmission networks to connect all the venues in the areas of Milano, Valtellina, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige, bringing high-performance connectivity to tourist locations with high development potential. Lastly, the Group will manage the network digital security and operational safeguarding necessary to meet the very high service levels required for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

The aim of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, in agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP), the cities of Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo, the region of Veneto and the region of Lombardia, and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano is to plan, organise, finance and achieve the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. Established on 9th December 2019, Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is led by President Giovanni Malagò and the CEO Andrea Varnier.
