Six projects have been selected by the TIM Foundation - chaired by Alberta Figari and led by General Manager Giorgia Floriani - to receive around 1 million euros in funding to promote the culture of innovation in the fields of social inclusion, art and culture, education and scientific research.
The winners were selected from over 300 projects submitted from all over Italy.
In particular, 'Pane e NoN SOLO' from Fondazione Opera Sacra Famiglia in Pordenone and 'Caregiver Fatigue' from Fondazione Onlus Soleterre in Taranto won the 'Social Inclusion - 'Vivere il Prossimo' (living thy neighbour) call. Their aim is to support families with people with disabilities, especially minors, in their social, relationship and professional needs.
There are three winning projects in the Art and Culture - ‘Vivere l'Arte’ (experiencing art) call: 'Vittoriale da vivere' by the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation in Gardone Riviera in the province of Brescia; 'Vivere il Design' by Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d'Oro in Milan and 'Galileo live MUSEUM' by Museo Galileo - Institute and Museum of the History of Science in Florence. These are initiatives for the creation of innovative ways and tools for access to Italy’s cultural heritage thanks to new technologies.
Finally, the 'Talento in Gioco' project from the University of Naples Federico II has won the Education and Scientific Research - 'Vivere il Talento' (experiencing talent) call for proposals to promote solutions for guiding young people and preventing unemployment and school drop-out (NEET phenomenon: Not in Education, Employment or Training).
"We are very pleased with the quality of the projects we have selected. Once again, proposals came from all over the country, confirming our commitment and the growing reputation we have for supporting the Tertiary Sector" said Giorgia Floriani, General Manager of the TIM Foundation.
The calls for proposals were open to philanthropic and non-profit organisations, foundations, recognised associations and associations for social advancement, social cooperatives, voluntary organisations, universities, religious bodies, public bodies operating on a non-profit basis and with the involvement of local communities.
