TIM and IDDA, the Digital Innovation and Development Agency within the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering digital transformation and improving cybersecurity initiatives throughout Azerbaijan. Luca Di Gianfrancesco, Ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan, also attended the signing ceremony in Baku, emphasizing the diplomatic support and importance of the agreement.
The partnership includes a mutual commitment to collaborate extensively on implementing innovative solutions based on advanced connectivity and IoT, cybersecurity initiatives, and quantum communications technologies, while actively promoting entrepreneurship and developing local human capital through shared expertise and resources. TIM and IDDA have also engaged discussions focused on the Group's potential entry into the Azerbaijani market. The goal is to pave the way for active participation in the country's digital landscape of Azerbaijan. The meetings between the two parties aim to establish the necessary foundations for TIM to operate in Azerbaijan.
Salar Imamaliyev, Advisor to the Chairperson of IDDA, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating: "This collaboration with TIM represents a key milestone in Azerbaijan's digital transformation journey. By leveraging TIM’s technological prowess and our local capabilities, we aim to accelerate Azerbaijan’s path toward becoming a regional innovation hub, driving substantial benefits for our businesses and communities. Our combined efforts will significantly enhance connectivity and foster sustainable economic growth, ultimately positioning Azerbaijan as a prominent center for innovation."
