This year, too, Telecom Italia has supported fund raising in favour of research on muscular dystrophy and the other genetic diseases, promoted by Telethon.
In particular, the company has decided to finance for the second consecutive year the research project on Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia developed by Dr. Barbara Bauce at the University of Padua.
Telecom Italia has also made available its own organisational and technological resources for undertaking the fund collection marathon activity. From 1 - 21 December, donations can be made by sending an SMS or calling the fixed network solidarity number 45505 by which, following the voice instructions, donations of 5 or 10 euros can be made, charged directly to the telephone bill. By sending an SMS to Telecom Italia fixed telephony numbers enabled for this service of from TIM personal cell phones, donations of 2 euros can be made.
The funds collected will be entirely handed over to the research institutes TIGET (Istituto San Raffaele Telethon per la terapia genica), DTI (Istituto Telethon Dulbecco) and TIGEM (Istituto Telethon di Genetica e Medicina) and to new research projects selected by a a specific medical and scientific committee, contributing to the promotions of research on rare genetic diseases.
