Telecom Italia’s new generation mobile network has come to Milan, with a connection speed of up to 42.2 Mbit/s, thus doubling network performance from the previous rate of 21 Mbit/s.
The 42.2 Mbit/s HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology, besides improving the performance of the services already available to the inhabitants of Milan, will be a significant contribution to the dissemination of mobile multimedia contents and services.TIM clients will be able to access Internet with faster download, improved quality of audio-video contents and undertake several mobile activities at the same time (for example downloading mail and watching your favourite videos).
The 42.2 Mbit/s services can be used thanks a range of new keys, specially designed for this technology, available at the traditional sales outlets.
The launching of the 42.2 Mbit/s HSPA technology in Milan forms part of the development plan for the new generation network being implemented by Telecom Italia throughout Italy, in order to provide support for the new services and large amount of traffic generated by mobile phones, keys, Smartphones and tablets.
This initiative confirms Telecom Italia’s intention to provide all-round coverage for broadband development in Italy on the fixed and mobile network, with continuing investment in creating increasingly modern networks designed to support technologically advanced services and better respond to increasing demand by the public.
