The Handmaid’s Tale, the multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe winning series, is set to return to TimVision on an exclusive basis in Italy, on simultaneous release with the United States. The first three episodes of the sixth and final season will be available from April 8, continuing with a new episode each week until the series finale on May 27.
Based on the novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood, the series has been a highlight of the television scene since its first season, which premiered exclusively on TimVision in 2017. The show owes its success to its narrative power, which combines the dystopian genre with strong references to current events, including through the iconic value of the handmaids' clothes as a symbol of revolt.
In the final season of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, June's indomitable spirit and determination lead her back to the fight to defeat Gilead. Luke and Moira join the resistance. Serena tries to bring justice to Gilead while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia come to terms with what they’ve done, and Nick faces difficult tests of character. This final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.
The sixth season cast includes Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, OT Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine and Josh Charles.
‘The Handmaid's Tale’ is produced by MGM. The sixth season is executive produced by Bruce Miller (series creator), Warren Littlefield, Eric Tuchman (co-showrunner), Yahlin Chang (co-showrunner), Elisabeth Moss, Steve Stark, Sheila Hockin, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Kim Todd, Daniel Wilson and Fran Sears. The series is distributed internationally by Amazon MGM Studios Distribution.
