Olivetti is participating in a special edition of “Make in Italy - The Exhibition” on the other side of the Atlantic, to be held from 13 to 25 November at the Italian Institute of Culture in New York, with some important inventions that demonstrate the role of the Ivrea-based company, a historical player in innovation in Italy. The company that developed the P101, the first personal computer designed by Pier Giorgio Perotto, will also introduce the new 3D-S2 printer with which Olivetti is embracing the “digital manufacturing” revolution and its new philosophy founded on sharing and collaboration.
Launched in recent weeks, the printer is aimed at small and medium enterprises that require faster and more cost-effective tools to create prototypes and new products. The Olivetti 3D-S2 is manufactured entirely in Italy, in the Canavese area, and all the technologies used are Italian. The printer uses the potential of Arduino, the open source hardware and software platform from Ivrea which has revolutionised the world of manufacturing.
The future of Italian inventiveness and technological creativity will also be the focus of the exhibition's opening event, planned for 12 November: the meeting, moderated by Maria Teresa Cometto and Riccardo Luna, will see the participation of Riccardo Delleani, CEO at Olivetti, alongside Massimo Banzi, co-founder of the Arduino Project, David Avino, founder of Argotec and Alessandro Piol, co-founder at AlphaPrime Ventures.
