Sparkle, the first international service provider in Italy and among the top ten global operators, has been awarded by international industry association MEF with the Business Impact Award for a Proof of Concept on Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) orchestrated by Lean NFV.
MEF 3.0 PoC awards recognize the Proof of Concepts that best demonstrate the ability to orchestrate dynamic services across automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks in accordance with MEF 3.0 Global Services Framework.
“Remote Employee Access to Cloud” PoC, developed with solution vendors Amartus, Nefeli Networks and Versa Networks, demonstrated how Sparkle enables multinational enterprises to deploy a post-pandemic hybrid workplace model, establishing secure and effective remote employee access to company resources located in multiple clouds or on premise.
The solution is delivered through an end-to-end SASE overlay deployed across multiple SD-WANs, with distributed security orchestrated by Lean NFV, an open architecture designed to dynamically manage a multi-vendor ecosystem for Virtualized and Containerized Network Functions. As a result, the end user receives policy-driven, zero-trust access to business resources distributed across multiple clouds, avoiding redirection and tromboning.
Sparkle is MEF member and MEF certified company since 2011. Since then, the operator has been a pioneer and strong promoter of MEF guidelines, becoming the first European service provider to achieve CE 1.0 and CE 2.0 certifications for Access services, as well as MEF 100G Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and MEF 3.0 certifications for E-Line services.
Throughout these years, MEF has awarded Sparkle for its Proof of Concepts and implementations in the field of enterprise applications, confirming Sparkle’s commitment and excellence in deploying forward-looking technologies and contributing to the definition of industry standards that facilitate interoperability and improve end-to-end automated services.
