#Donafuturo

For women who are victims of violence and their children

09/20/2021 - 10:00 AM

For the Giorno del Dono 2021 (Day of Giving), Istituto Italiano della Donazione and Fondazione Arché have launched the fourth annual #Donafuturo national fundraising campaign, and TIM customers can also contribute.

For this campaign, from 19 September to 10 October 2021, the charity hotline 45595 is active and can be used to donate €2 by sending a text from a mobile phone or €5 or €10 by calling from a landline.

#Donafuturo is the national fundraising campaign that supports the annual Giorno del Dono. This year, the charity selected by Istituto Italiano della Donazione to be the focus is Fondazione Arché, which has been supporting vulnerable children and families for 30 years.

Arché wants to respond to the numerous requests for help from women and children who are in distress and are victims of violence, which have grown considerably following the COVID-19 pandemic (80% more requests for help up to 1,522 in 2020 to the anti-violence hotline compared to the previous year).

This is why the #Donafuturo 2021 project was born. Casa Marzia welcomes mothers and their children and gives them a safe home.

It is located in Rome and is a community that hosts mothers and their children who are vulnerable, to protect and support the mother-child relationship, helping them get on their feet. This vulnerability for women is increasing. There are thousands of households in Italy made up of single mothers who live in conditions of absolute poverty and severe hardship due to violence, mental illness and other difficulties. The funds raised through donations will be used for renovations within the community.

Established in Italy in 2015, Giorno del Dono falls on 4th October and coincides with the feast of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Italy, which in the past had already been identified as a day of peace, fraternity and dialogue between different cultures and religions.
The goal is to build a shared culture of giving as a valuable tool to support a more equitable and inclusive society.
