The fifth edition of the Italian Sustainability Week, organised by Borsa Italiana (Italian Stock Exchange), was held online, from June 28 to July 2. This event was based on the discussion on sustainability between Italian companies and international investors.
Giovanni Ronca, TIM CFO, featured our approach for a sustainable future and summarized TIM activities.
"We are experiencing an exponential growth in the demand of our services and we take measures to prevent energy consumption from following the same path: in 2020 data consumption grew more than 40% and, yet, our overall energy consumption was down 14% and CO2 emissions were down 21%. We will cope with such growth with a dual ambition of becoming increasingly sustainable as a company, and – in parallel – contributing to greatly improving the sustainability of our customers.
For the first time in 2020 TIM published an ESG guidance, with targets on the most relevant KPIs for the next 5 to 10 years. At the end of 2020, we were on track for achieving all of the targets set and we were ahead of the plan in few of them, which led us to raise four targets in 2021: employees’ engagement, training, young talents turnover and innovative services growth."
