From 16 to 22 September, European Mobility Week returns, the initiative promoted by the European Commission to promote more conscious and active mobility, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions and protecting the environment.
More than 40 countries will join forces to support a new way of getting around, one that is less focused on the use of private vehicles, through awareness-raising campaigns and initiatives that will culminate in the last day on 22 September, World Car-Free Day.
There is still a lot to be done to improve the impact of mobility on the environment, but at TIM we believe it is a priority issue for our future and we are working on it. Our most recently launched initiative is a car pooling service, available in three locations: Milan, Rome and Florence. It allows TIM colleagues to car pool and share related expenses through the use of a simple app. We are also progressively switching our car sharing fleet over to electric vehicles and introducing electric car charging stations at our main offices.
To promote micro-mobility, we have also reserved racks for electric bicycles and scooters. But above all, we are carrying out more and more detailed analyses of the ways in which our colleagues tackle their commute and the possible development of smart working as a strategy for managing mobility in an increasingly green way. This is only the beginning, but we are aware that this is a step in the right direction.
Therefore, for European Mobility Week, we enthusiastically take part to this initiative to spread good practices and adopt sustainable mobility behaviour, all together.
