Legambiente has launched a new fundraising campaign with numbers to call in order to donate, and all TIM customers can also contribute.
It is called “Un piccolo gesto per curare l'ambiente" (A small gesture to heal the environment) and the goal is to promote the redevelopment of green areas and energy use to combat climate change.
From 31 May to 6 June, by sending a text message (€2) or making a call from a landline (€5 or €10) to 45593, you can donate to:
- a series of forestation measures in the metropolitan cities of Turin, Milan, Rome, and Naples where 4,000 trees will be planted.
Due to overbuilding in the area, the consequences of climate change increasingly impact the most vulnerable members of the population, such as the elderly. This is why there is the need to develop new green areas and woods in cities. - the creation of energy communities to disseminate the use of renewable energies. The Renewable Energy (RES) Communities represent an opportunity that has been made possible, on an experimental basis, by the Milleproroghe Law approved in March 2020. Individuals, SMEs, local authorities and municipal administrations can come together on a voluntary basis and collectively organise to take advantage of the benefits deriving from sharing self-produced electricity from renewable sources (solar, photovoltaic, wind, hydroelectric, biogas, geothermal). The cities where these communities will be developed are Turin, Milan, Rome and Bari.
The Legambiente project is also in tune with the theme of World Environment Day, which this year will be celebrated on Saturday 5 June, with a focus on "Restoring Ecosystems" to prevent, stop and reverse the damage inflicted on the planet, trying to go from exploiting nature to healing it.
