At TIM we have environments completely dedicated to testing, where technicians and experts have been personally testing state-of-the-art platforms, terminals and services every day since the start of the 1990s.
The labs in Turin, Rome and Naples, identified as LAPs (Accredited Testing Laboratories), test products, systems and services, both to meet the company’s internal requirements and for external customers in Italy and worldwide.
Our staff perform analysis and testing in various areas of assessment, from hardware to functionality, from fixed to mobile terminals, from the Internet of Things to optical systems and from user experience to interoperability with the TIM network.
We have a fixed and mobile network (Test Plant), unique within Italy; we design new test environments; we deliver accredited services with quality and customer satisfaction monitored continuously.

LAP accreditations
LAP is accredited by ACCREDIA DL (Laboratories Department), the only Italian accreditation body, in accordance with European regulation (EC) 765/2008 (December 2009) for the following services:
· Usability and User Experience
· Powering in stand by mode and off mode on TLC equipment.
The LAP is also accredited by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), Directorate-General for Planning and Management of the Radioelectrical Spectrum, in accordance with Ministerial Decree 84/02 for market monitoring, in the field of Powering testing of TLC equipment.

Usability & User Experience
We verify usability and user experience for services and apps from the perspective of the end user, through focus groups, usability tests, participatory co-design, questionnaires and heuristic evaluations. The surveys are carried out by certified staff, and services provided are certified.
Verification
We offer the expertise of our ICT specialists for consulting in fixed and mobile, NFV, SDN, IoT, terminals, multimedia and IP and wireless networks from Wi-Fi to 5G.
We operate directly in our labs, at customer’s premises and in the field.
Integration & Interoperability Testing
We have innovative environments and specialist expertise for Integration & Interoperability Testing.
We support our customers in the many phases of development for new products and services in line with the latest tech advances.
Testing Park & Farm
We provide a custom physical and virtualised environment where customers can carry out tests autonomously or with the support of our experts, both at our premises and remotely. The Test Plant network reproduces TIM’s fixed and mobile network and allows tests, checks and fine-tuning of products and services in a real, controlled environment prior to launch in a live environment.

Comformance
We guarantee conformity checks on products, offering accredited testing services (Accredia) according to national and international standards. We also assess compliance with standards/technical specifications that interest customers.
