TIM is one of the first companies in Italy to be certified for gender equality in the workplace.
UNI/PdR125 certification came at the end of a complex process that subjected the work of all TIM functions to an in-depth audit conducted by RINA, the multinational certification company. The way we ensure gender equality at all levels of the company was analysed, as was the use of specific performance indicators (KPIs) to close existing gaps and bring about substantial change over time.
The achievement of this milestone is further recognition of our commitment to gender issues, which comes after UNI ISO 30415 Human Resource Management Diversity and Inclusion certification and the Group's leading positions (in Italy and Brazil) in the main reference indexes such as the Refinitiv Diversity & Inclusion Index.
We have already launched many initiatives on gender equality, with a path that has led to the gradual overhaul of the Boards of Directors of Group companies, bringing the average presence of women on boards above 40%, and overcoming the gender pay gap at management level. But with our commitment, we also want to contribute to a cultural change through training and women's empowerment activities for TIM personnel and by supporting and spreading important messages for everyone, such as the "Equality can't wait" campaign launched in July with the women's national football team.
We believe that closing the gender gap is a real and urgent need, so we will continue down this path, striving to contribute to building an increasingly fair and just society.
