TIM and Apindustria Servizi – the training body for the Treviso and Venice territorial representatives of the Italian Confederation of Small and Medium Private Industry (CONFAPI) – have signed a Memorandum of Understanding directed towards supporting digital innovation in the Veneto production sector, to increase the competitiveness of SMEs.

Taking analysis of the needs of SMEs in the area as a starting point, the aim of the agreement is to encourage the adoption of digital technologies to accelerate the growth of the local business world. The initiatives for businesses include searching for the most appropriate digital and tech tools to develop the companies.

In particular, Apindustria Servizi will manage information and training services dedicated to supporting companies in the process of digital transformation.

TIM will provide companies with the best connectivity solutions and services for technological development in various areas: from 5G to cybersecurity, and from the cloud to Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things. Other services include digital marketing activities to support companies, real-time analysis in production areas, like industrial construction sites or urban management for smart cities.

Istat 2023 data relating to the level of ‘Digital Intensity’ shows that, despite the fact that 60.7% of Italian SMEs adopt at least 4 digital activities out of the 12 that make up the index, there are still significant differences in the performance of activities that require specialist expertise such as data analysis, the use of management software, social media marketing for internationalisation and Cloud computing tools.

The initiative will provide Veneto SMEs with the tools to face the major challenges of the digital and sustainable transition, competitiveness on foreign markets and the search for qualified staff.
