At TIM, we believe that the strength of connections is what unites people, overcoming distances and valuing differences. Inclusion is part of our DNA and is at the heart of many of our initiatives. Recognising this commitment most recently is the Refinitiv Diversity and Inclusion Index, an index that transparently and objectively measures the performance of more than 12,000 companies.
The TIM group has, in fact, been ranked as the top telecom company in the world for its inclusion policies and promoting diversity. This is the result of TIM being ranked number one in Italy (11th internationally) and TIM Brasil being ranked number one in South America (10th internationally).
It is an important result that prompts us to continue and advance our Diversity & Inclusion programme, launched in 2009 and carried forward through the years with great commitment, employee participation, and management support.
This programme includes initiatives for a great many people, like 4 Weeks 4 Inclusion, the marathon in which TIM involves over 200 companies in four weeks of international events, as well as Disability Management programmes to fully integrate people with disabilities, the Longevity Program to fight age discrimination, and the LGBTQ+ Management project under which we have broaden our concept of family. We focus particularly on closing the gender gap, because developing female talent is no less than a required condition to ensure a meritocracy.
