TIM Box

TIM Box is the TIM decoder with advanced features, allowing a digital entertainment experience on TV, even more complete and rich. Thanks to TIM Box all the residential customers can have access to the entertainment services provided by TIM (TIMVISION, TIMGAMES, TIMMUSIC), to the world of TIM’s Smart Home with IoTIM App, other TIM TV partners (e.g. DAZN, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix) and, thanks to the Android TV operating system, make use of Google Play apps.

Digital Terrestrial with the new DVB-T2 standard is also integrated.

The main features that contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of the TIM BOX are the following:

• the product adopts automatic mechanisms to reduce the energy consumption and enter standby states, either deep or “networked”;
• the energy consumption in deep standby state, when the product is not functional and only provides a reactivation function through button/remote control, is lower than 0.4 W (regulatory limit is 0.5 W);
• the energy consumption in networked standby state, when the product supports a limited number of functions and at least one network interface is active, are equal to 1.4 W (Ethernet, regulatory limit 2 W) and 1.9 W (Wi-Fi 5 GHz);
• the shell is manufactured with homogeneous and recyclable plastics;
• the application of eco-design rules to the case choice and parts coupling allowed to optimise the disassembling procedure at the end of the useful life; a dedicated guideline has been elaborated for that phase of the product lifecycle;

the product package is constituted by 70% recycled cardboard. Paper and cardboard used are FSC^® certified and the inks used for printing are water-based.
